トライナリーの少女たちの日常話を描いた小説「拡張少女系トライナリー～サマープリズム～」が、この度ファミ通文庫から発売されました。ゲームのメインストーリーは現在７月下旬ですが、その少し前の時期の番外編といった内容です。
The novel which describes ordinary life of Trinary girls "Augmented Reality Girls Trinary -Summer Prism-" has been published from Fami-Tsu Bunko. The time setting in the game app is currently end of July; this is kind of extra stories during the period a little before that.
今回の私個人の総評は、「百合（少女間の恋愛関係）が好きな人にはお薦めだけど、少し物足りないところもある」という感じです。ゲーム本編も百合的な関係を強調している感じですし、小説もその点はバッチリ描いていたと思いますが、それに興味ない人が十分楽しめるか？というと、少々疑問が残ります。あと、過激な描写もあるので（最後の方は読み進めるのをちょっと躊躇してしまいました）、留意する必要があります。
My personal overall impression this time is "Recommended for people who like 'Yuri' (love relationship among girls), but other parts are a bit unsatisfactory." Actually, the game app itself seem to emphasize Yuri relationships, and the novel definitely describes that point well, but I wonder if people who is not interested in that can enjoy this book enough. In addition, there are some sexual expressions in the novel (I hesitated to go on reading near the end), so you need to keep in mind that.
小説は、メンバー１人ずつにスポットを当てた、５つの短編で構成されています。以下は各章の簡単なあらましです。
The novel consists of five short stories; each episode features each one of Trinary members. The followings are brief introductions.
つばめ：メンバーの親睦を深めるために、パジャマパーティーをつばめの部屋で行うことになる。ところが、パジャマパーティーが何か全く知らないつばめはいろいろと勘違いを。
ガブリエラ：なんとかしてつばめと仲良くなりたいガブリエラは、映画館でのデート（？）を計画。しかしなかなか思い通りに事は運ばず…。
あやみ：先輩の結婚式のウェディングドレスの縫製を頼まれるが、試着している姿をみやびに撮られて誤解を広められてしまう。ガブリエラはショックのあまり、一切連絡を取らなくなってしまい…。
みやび：寮の独自の警備システムを構築中のみやびは、ふと思い立って日記をつけ始める。が、それがいつの間にかなくなっていたことに気付き、大パニックに。
神楽：みんなでリレー小説を書くことになったが、まとめ役の神楽は各自が書いてきたトンデモ展開に頭を悩ませることに。次の順番のつばめにアドバイスをするうちに、気持ちが抑えられなくなり…。
Tsubame: The girls plan to hold a slumber party at Tsubame's room. However, Tsubame doesn't know what it is at all and misunderstands...
Gabriella: Gabriella wants to get along with Tsubame in any way and asks her to go to cinema together. But things don't go as she expects...
Ayami: Ayami is asked by grad of her college to sew a wedding dress. However, Miyabi takes a picture of Ayami trying the dress on in the room and sends it to friends. Gabriella is so shocked that she stops to contact Ayami.
Miyabi: Miyabi is developing her original security system for the domitory. At the same time, she begins to write a diary on a whim, but it disappears one day. She becomes in panic.
Kagura: The members decide to write a collaborative story together, but Kagura is confused by too creative ridicuous stories others write. As she gives advices to Tsubame, supposed to be the next author, she can't stand to keep her feeling toward Tsubame inside...
サージュの小説では内容以前に文章自体の難が評価を下げていましたが、今回はその点は心配いりません。しっかりと読み応えありました。（残念ながら誤字脱字は皆無ではありませんが。）
Not like the novel of Surge Concerto series, which drawback in writings had lowered the evaluation before the content itself, you don't have to worry about that for this book. It is qualified enough that I could enjoy reading throughout the end. (It's too bad there are still some typos.)

百合描写が充実。
Plenty of Yuri
今回はこれに尽きます。ゲーム内よりも濃厚に描かれているので、それを期待している人には十分応える内容でしょう。（あやみさんの章以外はひたすらつばめちゃんの天然ジゴロぶりを見る感じですが。）つばめちゃん＆神楽ちゃんはもちろん、ガブちゃん＆つばめちゃん、あやみさん＆ガブちゃん、そして関係なさそうなみやびさんにも少し。
This is it. I guess it's great for people who look forward to see intimate relationships among the girls. It is described more deeply than in the game. (Except Ayami's Chapter, you have to watch entirely Tsubame being a natural gigolo, though.) Of course, the relation between Tsubame and Kagura is featured; there are also a relation between Gabriella and Tsubame, Ayami and Gabriella, and there's some expression within Miyabi's Chapter too.
この小説の描写から判断する限り、神楽ちゃんは本当に同性愛者か両性愛者（バイセクシャル）のどちらかと解釈して間違いないと思います。前回の記事では、彼女は異性愛者の女性好き（この分類がピンとこない人は、ぜひ「女の子が好き（ハート）」青木光恵著・ぶんか社刊などをお読みください）の可能性もあると考えていましたが（※注）、小説では彼女のつばめちゃんに対する真剣な想いが伝わってきました。ゲームプレイヤーとしてはやや本末転倒ですが、そんなに真剣なら報われてもいいんじゃないか（つばめちゃんが受け入れるのであれば）と、もはや私は思います。
According to the description in this novel, I suppose Kagura is truly either a lesbian or a bisexual for sure. In the previous post, I was thinking there's a possibility that she is a heterosexual who just likes girls (If you don't get such category, I recommend you to read a manga "I Love Girls!" by Mitsue Aoki, published by Bunkasha)*, but I really understood how serious her feeling toward Tsubame was from the novel. Even though this might be wag-the-dog as a game player, I begin to feel Kagura deserves to be rewarded if she's serious on this so much (if Tsubame accepts her).
※注 私がその可能性を考えた根拠は、策略のためにわざとああやって積極的に接しているのではないかと思ったため（最初はそうだったのかも）と、秋葉原でつばめちゃんを連れていった場所が、明らかに男性向け18禁の売り場だったからです。本当のレズビアンの人の嗜好とは一致しないのではないかと思うので。上記青木光恵さんの漫画などを読むと、どちらかというと異性愛者の女性好きの人の方が、男性向けの嗜好になじんでいる気がします。（この話題も掘り下げると深いですが、単純に“いいこと”とは捉えられないと思います。）
*The reason why I had thought the possibility is that I thought Kagura might had done it purposely to get along with Tsubame for her plan (maybe it was true at first), and the floor she took Tsubame in Akibahara was obviously an AO-rated zone for men. I think a real lesbian person has a different sexual preference from that of a heterosexual man. Referring to the manga above, I suppose a heterosexual woman who likes girls rather accepts man's preferences. (This topic is also worth to discuss more in detail; I don't think you simply can decide the fact is "good".)
ただ、私は百合ジャンルを特に愛好しているわけではないため、本当に百合好きな人がどう評価するかはわかりません。こだわりは人それぞれなので、もしかしたら今作はツボじゃない百合好きの人もいるかもしれません。
However, I am not especially fond of Yuri works, so I'm not sure how do people who really like Yuri evaluate this book. Each person has a different preference, thus maybe some people consider this novel is not their taste.
不満だった点
Unsatisfactory Points
上記のように今作は百合的な描写に力が入っており、各キャラクターもそれぞれ魅力的に生き生きと描かれていたと思います。が、サージュの小説がゲームで描かれていない、プレイヤーと出会う前の期間の物語だったのに比べ、今回はまさに同時進行でプレイしている最中の期間の話なので、どうしても自分が見ている彼女達の人物像との解釈の違いに、違和感を感じざるを得ないところがありました。
また、女の子の日常を題材にした作品の場合、少なくとも私個人が期待するのは、男性が普段気がつかないようなディテールやリアリティの描写です。そのあたりが若干弱かった印象を受けました。
As I wrote above, this novel focuses on Yuri, and I think each of the characters is expressed lively and charmingly. But comparing with the Surge novel, which is written about the period not described in the game (before Ion meets the game player), this book is written about the period we're playing in the app at the same time. Thus I can't help to feel uneasy with the difference between interpretation of the girls in the novel and that of mine.
Moreover, in my case, I hope to read details and reality which men don't usually notice in a story of girls' ordinary life. I felt this novel was a bit weak on that side.
例えば最初のつばめちゃんの章では、
・そもそもつばめちゃんがパジャマパーティーの概念を全く知らないというのはあり得るのか？ずっと入院していたから当然やったことはないとしても、少女雑誌や少女漫画のひとつも読んでいれば、イメージは知っているはずでは？知らない根拠になる設定（例えば一切その類を禁止されていたなど）がない限りは、不自然に感じます。
・文章では一言ですませてますが、つばめちゃんは掃除好きなので、みんなが部屋に来るとしたら張り切って掃除するのでは？もう少し詳しい描写がほしかったところ。
・同じ寮の中なら、あやみさんは自分の部屋で料理をして持ってくる方が自然では？つばめちゃんの所に道具や調味料がそろっているかわからないし。（料理上手な人は調味料にこだわります。）具体的な手際の描写が一切ないのも、見せ場なのにもったいなく感じました。
For example, in the first Tsubame's Chapter,
--First of all, is it possible Tsubame doesn't know about slumber party at all? Of course, she should have never experienced it because she had been in hospital for long time. But she should have known what it is if she had read a girl's comic or magazine in her life. Unless there's a clear reason which indicates she had no chance to know (ex. her parents didn't allow her to read comics or magazines), it's quite unnatural that Tsubame doesn't know slumber party.
--Although description ends within one phrase in a sentence, I think Tsubame would work hard on cleaning if other girls come to her room since she likes to clean and is good at it. I wanted to read more in detail here.
--Since Ayami lives in the same domitory, isn't it rather natural that she cooks in her own room and brings the food? It's not sure if Tsubame has enough cookwares and seasonings. (A good cook tends to have preferences for seasonings.) I wanted to see how she cooked, that was not described in the book after all. (It could have been her highlight.)
--The scene girls checking on Tsubame's closet seems a bit abrupt, too. It would be more natural if the scene goes like: Someone spills her drink -> Tsubame runs into closet and brings a towel -> Gabriella pays attention to the closet left open. (In the first place, I wonder whether they really play such joke even without drinking alcohol.)
など、他の章でも、ストーリー上では些末であろう部分がいちいち気になってしまいました。無論、気にならない人もたくさんいるでしょうが…。読んでて、こういう引っかかりがしばしばあったのは、個人的に残念でした。
Etc., same in other chapters, I couldn't help to feel uneasy on such sort of points, which may be considered bitsy on the story line. I know many other people don't mind that...I was a little disappointed personally with such points I was bothered.
今作は、エピソードの作り方が百合に偏っていたように思います。つばめちゃんと神楽ちゃんの関係は物語の謎にも関わるので重要としても、他のメンバーはそういう方向で揃える必要はなかったのでは？（みやびさんの話でも、しっかりそういう表現が入っていたし。）あやみさんの章で描かれたあやみさんとガブちゃんの関係も、同じ結婚ネタでももう少し違った描き方があったのではないかと、私は考えます。短編集であるなら、百合以外にももっと多様な視点でのテーマ、展開があっても良かったのではないでしょうか。
I think the way of making episodes in this book is inclined toward Yuri. I understand the relation between Tsubame and Kagura is important because it relates with the mystery of the story, but it is not necessary to make other members' story all in the same way, is it? (There was such kind of expression even in Miyabi's story.) For the relation between Ayami and Gabriella written in Ayami's Chapter, I suppose there could be another expression even with the same theme of marriage. Since it's a collected short stories, I think there could be stories in more various themes and development, not only Yuri.
よって、私の今回の感想は「百合目当てならお薦めだけど、個人的には少し不満」となりました。ただもちろん、ファンなら読んで損はないかと。何度も言いますが、女の子たちは魅力的に描かれていたし、最後の神楽ちゃんの章のリレー小説は大笑いでした。ゲームプレイヤーと会話したり、話題になるシーンは一切ないため、むしろプレイヤーが干渉していない可能性軸の話と解釈すべきでは？とも想像します。（全部が同じ可能性軸だとすると、各人の関係が進展しすぎな気がするし。）
Therefore, as my impression, "It's great if you like Yuri, but I'm personally dissatisfied a little." Still, it's certainly worth to read if you're a fan of Trinary. I write this repeatedly, but the girls are expressed charmingly indeed, and I laughed out loud when I read the collaborative story in Kagura's Chapter. In the novel, there's no scene which the girls chat with the game player or talk about him. Thus I imagine the novel can be a story on a possibility axis of the world that we don't interfere with. (I guess relations among girls have gone slightly too far if all things happen on the same possibility axis.)
ゲームで明かされるべき謎や秘密には極力触れていないので、ネタバレもありません。入門編としてはいい本だと思います。サージュのように、これから明かされる謎や設定の説明が充実している続編が後に出てほしいですね。ゲーム本編と共に、今後も期待したいです。
The novel avoids to talk about mystery and secrets that should be revealed in the game, so there's no spoilers. I think it's a good book for introduction. Like the novel of Surge Concerto, I hope next volume which explains such mystery and settings in detail is published in the future. I'll be looking forward to it as well as the game app.
