トライナリーの子達もいざという時には自分を犠牲にしそうな感じで心配…土屋作品のヒロインはそういう子が多いですが、それに素直に疑問を呈したのがティリアです。（ティリアはアルトネリコ３の小説で、民衆のために自分が犠牲になることを拒否し、シュレリアと口論になりました。）
I'm worried for Trinary girls who seem to make self-sacrifice when it comes to the crunch...heroines in Director Tsuchiya's works tend to be like that; Tilia is the one who straightly raised question about it. (In Ar tonelico 3 novel, she refused to be sacrificed for people and made a fight with Syureria.)
日本には自己犠牲を社会的に好ましいとする風潮があるので、創作物でも1つの大きなテーマになっています。しかし、そういう考え方がブラック労働を生み、戦時の“特攻”にもつながっているのです。サクラ大戦で、時代の変化に伴いそこの表現が１→２で真逆に変化したのはとても象徴的です。
In Japanese society, there is a tendency in common sense that self-sacrifice is a good thing. Thus it has been one of the big theme in creation. However, such way of thinking causes sweatshop ("black company" in Japanese), and it had lead to Kamikaze (suicide attack) in WWII. In Sakura Wars game series by SEGA, expression of this theme had changed in opposite way from 1 to 2 with the times; I consider it is very symbolic.
若い人には本当に自分を大切にしてほしいと思うし、そうできる地盤を私自身を含む年配者が作らねばなりません。土屋作品でもそういう人物が要所に配置されていますね。もうこの年になると、そういう年配キャラの方に共感して見ている自分がいますw 私自身は権力のないワープアですが、それでもできる範囲で若者が希望を持てる社会になるように行動したいと思います。そして、そんなメッセージを発信していくことが、創作物の役割の１つではないでしょうか。
I really hope young people to respect themselves, and elder people including myself have to build up a basis which enable them to do that. I can see such elder characters often appear in Director Tsuchya's works, too. At my age, I sympathize with elder characters more than before. I'm only a working poor who have no power, but I want to take action as possible as I can to change this society to let young people have hope. And I believe sending such message is one of the roles of creation.
